The device (100) has a lubricant pump unit (120) which is provided to supply the lubricant to a lubrication point (110), where a control unit (130) is provided to control a lubricant amount based on a sensor measurement signal. The lubricant amount is supplied to the lubrication point by the lubricant pump unit. The sensor measurement signal depends on a temperature, a pressure, a viscosity, a dielectric constant, water content, vibration strength or a speed measured by a part of a machine. The temperature is measured in an area of the lubrication point. An independent claim is included for a method for supplying lubricant to a lubrication point in a machine.
