PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining assembled battery that can prolong the lifetime of the packed battery. SOLUTION: The method is used for maintaining the assembled battery that has battery cells of the number of n (n is an integer number of 3 or more) that are arranged to sequentially form a line, and to which fastening pressure is applied from front and end sides of the line. The method includes a relaxing step in which the n pieces of battery cells, composing the assembled battery are constituted to be divided into two or more battery cell groups, and the fastening pressure is relaxed, after the assembled battery is used; a division step in which the battery cells of the number of n are divided into two or more battery cell groups after the relaxing step; and an arrangement step in which the battery cells of the number of n are rearranged sequentially via a process of moving the battery cells that are arranged at the center of the line, while they are being used to end the side of the line at a distance farther from the center after the dividing step.
