TRACK FOR A MOVEABLE CURTAIN

A curtain track 2 comprises first 4 and second portions 6, and a gate portion 8 spanning the two portions. The gate portion can be moved between an open configuration which creates a temporary gap to allow, for example, an overhead suspension system to be moved from one side of the track to the other, and a closed configuration which allows a curtain suspended from the track to travel across the gate. A biasing means 42 is provided to bias the gate closed. The biasing member may be formed of or within a hinge 10. By providing a track that may be opened and closed by means of the gate portion, without requiring permanent gaps, it is possible to suspend a curtain from the track so as to provide a single partitioning screen, such as for a cubicle in a hospital ward.
