The present invention relates to an M2M based unmanned pawnshop technology for operating an unmanned pawnshop lending people money in exchange for valuable objects using a machine-to machine (M2M) technology. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an M2M based device for an unmanned pawnshop comprises an object receiving unit for receiving an object to be exchanged; an object recognizing unit for recognizing the object received by the object receiving unit; a user recognizing unit for recognizing the identification of a user who borrows money; a communication module for communicating with a pawnshop server through a communication network and transmitting the user information recognized by the user recognizing unit and the object information recognized by the object recognizing unit to the pawnshop server; and a money withdrawal unit for withdrawing corresponding money based on the limit of money authorized by the pawnshop server and the amount of money selected by the user. Also, the present invention includes a user interface unit for displaying at least information about limit of money and selection of money and inputting user′s selection.
