A mount (120) for motorcycles and other vehicles is provided that resists relative rotational movement by way of anti-rotation pins (152) received in cavities (140, 176). Connections are provided between a coupling device (126) and the vehicle mount (128) and/or at the connection between the coupling device (124) and a mounting plate (122) that supports a portable device. The mount (120) permits disengagement at the connections in response to the application of a force to the mount by way of breakage of the anti-rotation pins (152) under shear force. To aid in disengagement the cavities (140, 176) and the anti-rotation pins (152) have different material hardness. |
