A partly oriented fiber giving a package which changes little in shape with time even through practically necessary long-term storage in a stockroom. The fiber has satisfactory suitability for false twisting and combines stability in dyeing with soft feeling. It is suitable for mass production. Also provided is a cheese-form package. The fiber is a partly oriented core-sheath polyester composite fiber constituted of a polylactic acid as a core component and polytrimethylene terephthalate as a sheath component, and is characterized by satisfying the following requirements (1) to (3). (1) Elongation: 60-130% (2) 70°C-water shrinkage: 0.5-7.0% (3) Initial tensile resistance: 20-40 cN/dtex |
