1. A bursting head cable clamping mechanism comprising:
(a) a hollow screw having an inner dimension competent to receive a cable, (b) a bursting head having a substantially hollow interior and a threaded aperture at its anterior end dimensioned to receive said screw, (c) a plurality of cable clamping jaws, the plurality of jaws together having an outer surface dimensioned to fit against the interior of the nose end of said bursting head and having a threaded inner surface competent to grip said cable, each said cable clamping jaw member comprising a magnet on each of its lateral interconnecting surfaces, the magnet positioned to contact and repel the magnet on the proximal/neighboring jaw; and (d) a compressible spring dimensioned to fit within said bursting head posterior to said cable clamping jaws such that, when said screw is threaded in said aperture, the plurality of said cable clamping jaws are moved back in said bursting head, compressing said spring and releasing the jaws from the cable, the magnets repelling each other with sufficient force to keep the jaw members off the cable and compressed against the interior surface of the bursting head. |
