Provided are an I/O device, an I/O program, and an I/O method, whereby visual confirmation is possible by using a sense of distance, such as when a target object being a real image approaches a virtual stereoscopic image. This I/O device includes: a display device capable of generating a stereoscopic image; and a depth sensor that measures the distance to the target object. A stereoscopic area for the stereoscopic image generated by the display device and a depth detection area for the depth sensor have a shared area shared by both. As a result, visual confirmation is possible by using a sense of distance such as when the target object being a real image approaches the virtual stereoscopic image.
