A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to increase a response speed of an LCD panel by converting image data to over-driving data using different ratios. Plural gate and data lines are arranged on an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(102). A data driver(106) drives plural data lines. An input portion inputs data for respective frames. At least two data compensators(110) convert the data from the input portion using different ratios and output the converted data. A data select signal generator is arranged between the input portion and the data driver and generates a data select signal by using the data, which is received from the input portion during successive frames. A selector(128) selects the data corresponding to the data select signal from the data compensators according to the data select signal supplied from the data select signal generator, and supplies the selected data to the data driver. |
