The method for improvement of the state of skin cover and/or body hair coat of animals involves usage of a composition containing the following components: one or more omega-6 fatty acids and one or more omega-3 fatty acids at a ratio of the total content of omega-6 fatty acids to the total content of omega-3 fatty acids being from nearly 1 to less than 5 with the total content of omega-3 fatty acids equal to less than 3 wt %. The set contains two or more ingredients by the combination whereof the above described composition is produced.
