The present invention relates to a separator that a porous material is coated with a multifunctional coating layer which has properties such as low density, low wettability, HF absorbability, and thermal stability, and a secondary battery using the same. According to the present invention, the present invention provides a multifunctional coated separator which prevents the generation of hydrogen fluoride (HF) due to the low wettability of coating particles compared to an existing Al oxide-based organic/inorganic complex coating separator, and enhances HF capturing ability, thereby representing excellent discharge capacity retention characteristics, and a secondary battery using the same.
