Monitoring of at least one quality parameter of yarn (2) and/or sensor (4) parameters by a yarn electronic cleaner (1) is carried out using an optical scanner (5). The optical scanner (5) comprises a sensor (4) with one or two rows of individual optical elements (41, 42) of rectangular shape. The individual optical elements (41, 42) provide at their outputs analog signals that are proportional to the intensity of their irradiation, which is monitored in each measuring cycle. In the first row and/or in the second row of the sensor (4) optical elements (41, 42), there are selected, for each monitored parameter of the yarn (2) quality and/or for each monitored parameter pf the sensor (4), the individual sensor (4) optical elements (41, 42) forming an active zone for monitoring the relevant parameter. The number of the optical elements (41, 42) in one active zone (Z1.1, Z1.2, Z1.3, Z1.4, Z1.2.1, Z1.2.2, Z2.2.1, Z2.2.2, Z2.3, Z2.4, Z2.1) and in one row is less than the total number of the optical elements (41, 42) in the corresponding row. The output analog signal of the individual optical elements of the particular active zone is comprised in the evaluation of the corresponding parameter. |
