PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a recessed portion 7 in OC generated in a White pixel 4W portion, which is a problem in omitting a process of forming the White pixel 4W and using an OC layer 5 as a substitute for the White pixel 4W portion so as to reduce man hours in a four-color color filter, and thereby, to prevent alignment failure of a liquid crystal in the recessed portion in OC and to prevent decrease in contrast.SOLUTION: In a four-color color filter, a process of patterning a resist, which is carried out for forming R, G, B pixels, is not carried out in forming a W (white) pixel 4W, but the W pixel 4W is formed by using an OC layer 5 provided on the pixel 4. When irradiating the OC layer 5 with light to cure the layer, a halftone mask 2 is used to increase an exposure dose for curing the OC layer 5 which becomes the W pixel 4W, and then the layer is developed. Thereby, film thickness reduction in the OC layer which becomes the White pixel portion after development is decreased, and a level difference between the OC layer on the White pixel portion and the OC layer on the R, G, B pixel portions is suppressed to 0.5 μm or less. |
