PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for reducing electric power to be consumed by an electronic key terminal, configured to effectively reducing power consumption of the electronic key terminal.SOLUTION: A position information acquisition unit 210 arranged in an electronic key terminal 200 acquires lock position information which is information on a position where a vehicle 100 is locked, and terminal position information which is information on a position of the electronic key terminal 200. A power consumption reducing unit 220 arranged in the electronic key terminal 200 reduces power consumption when a relative distance between the lock position of the vehicle 100 indicated by the lock position information and the position of the electronic key terminal 200 indicated by the terminal position information is equal to or larger than a prescribed distance. |
