PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle backward movement assist device which displays an object serving as a mark in a vehicle width direction or a vehicle fore-and-aft direction during backward movement on a reflecting mirror thereby performing backward movement assist of a vehicle. ! SOLUTION: A vehicle backward movement assist device comprises: a high-mount stop lamp 6; and a rear under mirror 8 disposed at the front side of the high-mount stop lamp 6. A radiation opening 11a, which radiates a part of light from a light source 9 to the front side, is formed on a partition wall 11 of the high-mount stop lamp 6.
