PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press-fit terminal having a new structure capable of reliably providing a plating layer on an outer surface of an elastic contact part without requiring post-plating processing while accomplishing improvement in yield, and also provide a method of manufacturing the press-fit terminal.SOLUTION: A rod-like metal fitting 12 is formed by cutting a metal square wire 22 having plating layers 24a to 24d on the surface to a predetermined length, a width direction center part of the metal square wire 22 is punched in the plate thickness direction to form a through-hole 26 and elastic contact parts 28a and 28b are formed at both side edge parts 30a and 30b of the metal square wire 22 remaining on both sides of the through-hole 26. |
