The invention relates to a filler element (1) for filling bottles (4) or similar containers with liquid contents in a filling mode of the filler element. Said filler element comprises a liquid channel (6) which is formed in a filler element housing and can be connected to a vessel (3) for liquid contents, the channel forming a dispensing opening (8) for dispensing the contents into the respective container. In the filling mode and the CIP mode there is a continuous fluidic connection between a CIP connection (20) of an extended section (13) and a channel that acts as a CIP channel (19). A valve body (18) which is mounted on an element (14) for determining the fill level forms a valve assembly for switching the filling element (1) between the filling mode and the CIP mode.
