<p>A new slave station setting method that makes it possible to accurately and simply set the slave stations of a control/monitor signal transmission system in which a master station connected to a control unit and a plurality of slave stations corresponding to a plurality of output units, input units, and controlled devices are connected using a common data signal line and data is transmitted using a transmission synchronization method. One specific piece of address data not set during normal use is set for a slave station as initial address data indicating that the slave station is in an initial state. The master station stores and transmits unique profile data for each slave station in an existing system. When initial address data is set for a slave station, the slave station acquires the transmitted profile data while retaining the initial address data and compares specification data about the basic functions of the station with the profile data. If the specification data and profile data match, a notification is displayed, and when confirmation data is input from the master station or a terminal device, the slave station confirms the profile data as the data for the slave station.</p> |
