<p>The invention relates to a method for calculating an itinerary, which enables a road journey to be determined between two points of a road map and comprises the following steps: receiving a starting point and an end point; tracking the map in order to identify potential itineraries between said points; selecting the points and/or segments of the map that enable an optimal itinerary to be generated on the basis of given criteria; virtually tracking the itinerary in order to determine guidance references likely to enable a user to travel along said itinerary, the guidance references comprising direction data; wherein the itinerary is calculated in relation to a database of directions previously identified, such that the database is exhaustive and the results are consistent.</p> |
