PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for increasing the average magnetic flux density on the outer periphery of a rotor, by reducing the leakage magnetic flux from the rotor of a motor.SOLUTION: A rotor 68 comprises: a circular rotor core 66; a plurality of &thetas; magnets 28; and a ring-shaped Z magnet 60. The rotor core 66 has a plurality of magnet housing sections formed radially about the axis of rotation. The &thetas; magnets 28 are housed in the magnet housing section so that the same magnetic polarities as that of an adjacent magnet face in the circumferential direction of the rotor core, and the rotor core has N poles and S poles formed alternately in the circumferential direction on the outer peripheral surface. The Z magnet 60 has N poles and S poles formed annularly and alternately on the surface facing the end face of the rotor core in the direction of the axis of rotation. The Z magnet 60 are provided so that the phase of N pole on the opposing surface is shifted from the phase of N pole on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor core, in the phase of the rotor core in the direction of rotation. |
