PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet ray generator capable of illuminating a plane with uniform luminous intensity.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet ray generator 1 includes: a mounting board 2; plural ultraviolet LED chips 3; a frame 4; and a window member 5. Defining the radiation angle of ultraviolet ray with respect to the optical axis as &thetas;, and defining the intensity of radiated light in a direction of the radiation angle &thetas; as I; dividing a range of the radiation angle &thetas; into a first specific range including 0° from -90°to 90° and a second specific range in which an absolute value is larger than a value within the first specific range, the ultraviolet ray generator 1 includes the plural ultraviolet LED chips 3 which are disposed avoiding but enclosing a center 2aa of the region 2a enclosed by the frame 4 on one surface of the mounting board 2 in plan view so that the radiation angle dependency of the intensity of radiated light Iis smaller than cos&thetas; in the first specific range, and is larger than cos&thetas; in the second specific range with respect to cos&thetas;(n is a real number of 1 or more) as a reference of the identical output. |
