PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality polylactic acid composition having less content of the residual ring-opening-polymerizable monomer, having a high molecular weight and high strength and hardly causing yellowing, and to provide a method for producing the polylactic acid composition and an apparatus for producing the polylactic acid composition.SOLUTION: There is provided a polylactic acid composition which comprises at least a polylactic acid and has a content of the residual ring-opening-polymerizable monomer of 100 mass ppm or more and 5000 mass ppm or less, a weight average molecular weight measured by gel permeation chromatography of 100000 or more and less than 300000, a yellow index (YI) value of 5 or less and Charpy impact strength of 10 kJ/mor more.
