The module has a deflector device comprising a cruciform material layer (11), which is connected with a gas bag fabric (10). The layer is formed with first and second strip-shaped projections (13, 16), which are opposed with each other towards a central region (12). Total length of the first projection in an opposite direction is smaller than the total length of the second projection in a crossing direction. The projections are changed over the central region, where ends (15, 18) of the projections are interconnected with each other. The deflector device is arranged inside a gas bag.
