PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a complication after an operation by reliably fixing and stabilizing an intervertebral part after extracting an intervertebral disk substance, and also to reduce invasiveness in the operation by shortening an operation time in a ventral neck decompression in dog.SOLUTION: In the ventral neck decompression in dog is performed as follows. The midline of a ventral neck in dog with a cervical intervertebral disk protrusion/extrusion syndrome is cut over a prescribed length with the target intervertebral part as a center, so as to expose a pair of vertebral bodies which are positioned in front and rear parts of the intervertebral part by holding the intervertebral part between the vertebral bodies. A ventral slot having a prescribed width and length extending in a body axial direction across the intervertebral part is formed in the pair of vertebral bodies, so as to extract the intervertebral disk substance from the ventral slot and the intervertebral part. Then, an extending and fixing treatment for fixing the pair of intervertebral parts is performed, thereby to suture the cut region. In the extending and fixing treatment, an implant with a shape having a cruciate cross section and fitting to a longitudinal hole is driven into the longitudinal hole extending from a ventral part to a spinal cord, which is formed by the ventral slot and an intervertebral gap as a result of extracting the intervertebral disk substance. |
