Materials and apparatus for treating bone

A system for injecting a bone cement which comprises a first component and a second component. Contacting the first component and the second component produces a mixture which attains a high viscosity within a short initial period following initial contact of the first and second components. The viscosity remains relatively stable for a working time after the initial period. The system includes a reservoir for the bone cement and a pressure source adapted to apply pressure the bone cement to expel it for injection into a patient.
