The present invention relates to a system and a method for managing materials which attach a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, which has identification information used to identify each of the material containers, to the material containers for storing materials, collect information generated while the material containers or the materials contained in the material containers are processed by various apparatuses using the attached RFID tag, and control the apparatuses by using the collected information to manage the materials. The method for managing materials according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for managing materials used in manufacturing a liquid crystal display device comprises the following steps. In step (a), two or more apparatuses, which process the material containers or the materials contained in the material containers and include readers capable of acquiring the unique identification information (Info1) included in the RFID tags attached to the material containers, acquire the identification information (Info1) acquired by using the readers. In step (b), the two or more apparatuses acquire the information (Info2) generated while the material containers or the materials contained in the material containers are processed. And, in step (c), the acquired identification information (Info1) and the generated information (Info2) are transmitted to a server. |
