<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus including a mechanism capable of performing a detachable operation of a recording head without enlarging the apparatus even if an upper part of a carriage part does not open, so as to achieve a downsizing of the apparatus and a cost reduction.SOLUTION: A stationary portion of a cable 5 extending from the carriage is provided in a front part of the apparatus in which the number of components is small. An opening area in which the stationary portion of the cable does not exist is provided in a part of the front part of the apparatus, and replacement positions for an ink tank 10 and the recording head are provided in the opening area. A utilization direction of a lever 7 fixing the recording head is set to a substantially cross direction of the apparatus. In the opening area in the front part, the stationary part of the cable is overlapped with a utilization area of a recording head fixing lever in the cross direction of the apparatus. The replacement positions for the ink tank and the recording head are set to be different from each other. In the replacement position of the ink tank, the recording head is not allowed to be physically operated in order to prevent a user's improper operation.</p> |
