<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device that can eliminate unnecessary ink ejection when a discharge head is cleaned and also prevent a failure in jetting due to an air bubble etc.SOLUTION: An image formation device includes a discharge head 14 which a plurality of nozzles 70 for discharging ink arranged side by side; a cap member 62 which includes a capping device 60 for sucking ink from the nozzles 70 of the discharge head 14, and caps all the nozzles 70 on a discharge plane where the nozzles 70 of the discharge head 14 are formed with a space left inside; and a shield member 63 which is brought into contact with some nozzles to shield the nozzles while the cap member 62 caps all the nozzles 70. When the discharge head is cleaned, the cap member 63 caps all the nozzles 70 and after nozzles which need not be cleaned are closed by the shield member 63, ink is sucked from the nozzles 70.</p> |
