The present invention provides a width reduction pressing method which is provided to significantly reduce a camber of a rolled strip caused by reducing the width of a metal sheet in a hot rolling process of the metal sheet, wherein the hot rolling process includes a process reducing the width of a slab; and a width reduction pressing apparatus. Thus, the width reduction pressing method uses the width reduction pressing apparatus having a pair of press tools to reduce the slab, and reduces the width of the slab while always suppressing the width-directional displacement of the slab on at least two positions in the longitudinal direction of the slab except for the positions of the press tools, when one position in the longitudinal direction of the slab are reduced. |
