<p>The present invention relates to a base, adapted to communicate with a portable communication device and to be connected to a communication network, comprising: means for receiving a number from a portable communication device, means for selecting among the following possibilities, according to the value of said number: a) if said number corresponds to a predetermined code: i) activation of a functionality at the level of the base, or ii) establishment of a new configuration of the base, or iii) consultation of information on the base, or b) a call or data transmission to a communication network is set up if said number does not correspond to a predetermined code.
