The present invention relates to a method to remove an overlapping effect of a three-dimensional image to which a time-division display mode is applied and, more specifically, to a method to remove an overlapping effect of a three-dimensional image to which a time-division display mode is applied. A three-dimensional display system for the method comprises: a plurality of two-dimensional LCD display panels stacked to display a two-dimensional image, respectively; a light source device which provides light sources for the two-dimensional LCD display panels; and a video display adjusting unit which specifies a video area displayed on the two-dimensional LCD display panels, wherein the two-dimensional image is displayed on each of the two-dimensional LCD display panels, and the video display adjusting unit of three types of images such as a full-transmitting image whereby all of the light sources of the light source device transmit each of the two-dimensional LCD display panels, a mask image whereby an object area is not transmitted to mask the object area, and a background blocking image whereby a background image is not transmitted. Therefore, the present invention as described above provides images at different times to remove an overlapping effect of a three-dimensional image, thereby ensuring realism and vivid picture quality the three-dimensional image and reducing the fatigue of an observer′s eyes by the vivid picture quality.
