The present invention relates to a method for controlling an ISG, and more specifically, to a method for controlling an ISG capable of preventing a vehicle from running contrary to the intention of a driver in the event of restarting of an engine by checking a power transfer system or a control system of a vehicle with an ISG function before the engine is restarted when the engine is stopped by the ISG function. The method for controlling an ISG includes: an engine stopping step of stopping an engine by stopping the engine by converting the engine into an ISG stopping condition by a logic condition of the ISG function of a vehicle; a checking step of determining whether to meet the logic condition of the ISG function for restarting of the engine when the engine is restarted after the engine is stopped in the engine stopping step; and an engine start preventing step of preventing the engine from being started when determined that the logic condition of the ISG function for restarting the engine is not satisfied in the checking step. |
