PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine valve timing control device capable of suppressing the inclination of a torsion spring if a vane rotor rotates relatively to a housing.SOLUTION: An outside diameter W1 of a torsion spring 30 before attachment is set larger than an inside diameter W2 of a spring guide 12b. Owing to this, at a time of assembling a valve timing control device, the torsion spring is attached into the spring guide by reducing a diameter of the torsion spring using first to third jigs 31 to 33 for assembling so that the outside diameter W1 of the torsion spring is equal to or smaller than the inside diameter W2 of the spring guide. In a free state in which an urging force of the vane rotor against the housing is the smallest after attachment of the torsion spring, the outside diameter W1 of the torsion spring is equal to or smaller than the inside diameter W2 of the spring guide. |
