This invention is provided with: a heat generation calculation unit (32) for calculating the temperature increase (&Dgr;T(up)) per unit time on the basis of the amount of heat generated (&Sgr;t) between the friction materials of a clutch (23) interposed in a vehicle driving force transmission system, the operating states of complete engagement, slip engagement, and release being achieved in the clutch (23); a heat dissipation calculation unit (33) for calculating the temperature decrease (&Dgr;T(down)) per unit time on the basis of the amount of heat dissipated (f(t)) from the friction materials of the clutch (23); and a clutch temperature estimation calculation processor (31) for adding the temperature change (&Dgr;T) to a previous clutch temperature value (Tpv) and thereby calculating the present clutch temperature value (Tnow). The heat dissipation calculation unit (33) estimates the amount of lubricant passing around the friction materials of the clutch (23), and uses the estimated lubricant amount for the amount of heat dissipated (f(t)) by transmission of heat from the friction materials to the lubricant. |
