PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from getting confused by a relation between an image displayed for review after taking a picture and a first image displayed after transition to a playback mode when generating a plurality of images by one photographing instruction issued.SOLUTION: A system control unit 50 performs a specific type of photographing for generating a plurality of images by capturing images with an image pickup element according to one photographing instruction issued, and produces review display after image capture for displaying the images obtained by the image capture. The system control unit performs group playback in which images other than a representative image among the plurality of images generated by the specific type of photographing executed once are not handled as those subject to image forwarding by single-image display, and the representative image is handled as the one subject to image forwarding by single-image display, so that the representative image among the plurality of images generated by the specific type of photographing is displayed in review display after the specific type of photographing is executed.
