The present invention provides an electricity generation apparatus for a ship using axial vibration of a main engine, comprising: a main engine installed within a hull structure of the ship, generating a driving force to drive a propeller and transferring the generated driving force to the propeller via a propeller shaft; an electricity generation device dually used for a vibration damper installed on one side of the main engine, receiving longitudinal vibration of the propeller shaft and axial vibration of the main engine while attenuating the longitudinal vibration of the propeller shaft and the axial vibration of the main engine and generating electricity while vibrating; and an electricity storage device for storing the electricity generated by the electricity generation device. Therefore, the present invention absorbs the longitudinal vibration of the propeller shaft connected to the main engine and rotating for making the propeller rotate wherein the propeller rotates for propelling the ship, and the axial vibration of the main engine at the electricity generation device dually used for the vibration damper arranged on one side of the main engine for attenuating the longitudinal vibration and the axial vibration, converting the vibration into electricity energy to be usable in the ship, and generating eco-friendly energy using the longitudinal vibration generated by the rotating propeller shaft and the axial vibration of the main engine, thereby preventing seawater pollution or air pollution.
