Method for examining samples of frozen rocks

A sample of frozen rock is brought into contact at a negative temperature with a frozen solution of a radiopaque agent. Once the sample is saturated, computer X-ray microtomography of the sample is carried out at negative temperatures and the spatial distribution and concentration of ice inclusions and/or gas hydrate inclusions and, likewise, open and closed porosity are determined by analysis of the computed tomography image obtained.
