A method to search for a service for a terminal using generic advertisement service (GAS) protocol is disclosed. The method to search for the service for the terminal may include the steps of: transmitting a first generic advertisement service (GAS) initial request frame including a service discovery information field to an access point (AP); and, if a response is not received from the AP to a given time after the GAS initial request frame is transmitted, a second GAS initial request frame including a service discovery for future information field is transmitted to the AP. Therefore, it is possible for a station (STA) to quickly search for a desired service, connect to a network serving the service, and use the service. In addition, if another service preferred by the STA is later registered with the AP, the AP transmits this fact to the STA to enable the STA to use the service. |
