1. A method for collaboratively captioning media in multiple languages, the media including video and audio, the method comprising:
receiving a first annotation in a first language for a media segment from a first user account; saving the first annotation as a caption in the first language for the media segment; rendering the caption in the first language for the media segment at a second user account; receiving a second annotation in a second language, different from the first language, for the media segment from the second user account; and saving the second annotation as a caption in the second language for the media segment; rendering the caption in the second language for the media segment at a third user account; receiving a third annotation in the second language for the media segment from the third user account; saving the third annotation as a second caption in the second language for the media segment; performing an analysis on the first and second captions in the second language for the media segment; selecting the first or second caption based on the analysis; and rendering the selected first or second caption at a fourth user account in response to a request for captions in the second language received from the fourth user account.
