The present invention provides a secondary battery having improved stability. The secondary battery, according to an embodiment, includes an electrode assembly including a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; a first collecting plate and a second collecting plate connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, respectively; a case to receive the electrode assembly, the first collecting plate and the second collecting plate; a cap plate to seal the case; a first electrode terminal and a second electrode terminal electrically connected to the first collecting plate and the second collecting plate, respectively, and formed through the cap plate; and a short inducing part electrically connected to the first collecting plate and formed through the cap plate to be exposed at the top. The short inducing part includes a duct part to move gas inside the case to the top of the cap plate; and a transformed part to cover the top of the duct part and transformed by the moved gas to electrically connect the first electrode and the second electrode. |
