A fluid dispensing apparatus 10 comprising a fluid tank 12 for storing fluid, such as a spoiling dye, and having a cylindrical bore of circular cross section in which is a piston 18 movable between a sealed position and an open position. A means for pressurising the stored fluid 14 to cause the piston to move to the open position and dispense the fluid is provided. The piston is preferably spring biased closed and may include latches 32 to retain the piston in the open position. The pressuring means is preferably a canister of compressed gas which is ruptured by an explosive to discharge the gas into the fluid tank. The device may be used in a secure container for the transport of valuables such as bank notes. |
