<p>PURPOSE: An intermediate shaft of a steering device for a vehicle is provided to absorb the shock energy by a collapsible movement in the axial direction in a vehicle crash. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate shaft of a steering device for a vehicle comprises a hollow external member(303), a solid internal member(307), and a shock absorbing member(310). The external member comprises a yoke(305) in one end. One end of the inner member is inserted into the outer member and the other end is equipped with the yoke. The inner side of the shock absorbing member is joined to one end of the external member. The shock absorbing member absorbs the shock energy by being slidingly inserted with the internal member in the axial direction in a vehicle crash.</p> |
