by reacting rapamycin with (R)(R)P(=O)-Cl or (R)(RO)P(=O)-Cl to form the compound,
wherein each occurrence of R is aryl or is an independently chosen C 1 -C 6 alkyl group optionally bearing one or more halo, -OH, alkoxyl-, alkyloxyLalkyloxyl-, haloalkyl-, hydroxyalkoxyl-, acyl-, acyloxy-, heterocyclic, aryl or heteroaryl substituents.
