The present invention relates to a dual type air conditioner for a vehicle and, more particularly, to an air conditioner for a vehicle having a structure which prevents conditioned air in a passage of high pressure from being introduced to a passage of low pressure through holes formed in a separator when a left passage and a right passage operate in different air conditioning modes, respectively. The dual type air conditioner (100) for a vehicle comprises a cold air flow passage (P1) through which conditioned air passed through each evaporator of the left passage (110) and the right passage (120) is moved, a warm air flow passage (P2) through which air heated by a heater core (3) is moved, a bypass air flow passage (200C) formed at a side wall of a mixing chamber (MC) where the cold air flow passage (P1) and the warm air flow passage (P2) meet and bypassing the air in the mixing chamber (MC) to the upper side of the mixing chamber (MC), and a bypass door mounted to adjust the degree of opening of the bypass air flow passage (200C). When the difference of pressure inside the left passage and the right passage becomes greater than leaking pressure, the bypass door (200) at a high-pressure area opens the bypass air flow passage (200C) to connect the mixing chamber (MC) to a low-pressure area in the same passage, thereby preventing leakage of conditioned air between passages operated in different air conditioning modes.
