PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor having a terminal connection structure formed by externally fitting a cylindrical connection part of a terminal metal fitting for outer peripheral surfaces by press-fit into a sensor element having a chamfer on the outer peripheral surface of the rear end, and having a sensor structure capable of smoothly press-fitting the cylindrical connection part even when a cut surface produced by cutting off a connection part formed in a press manufacturing step is between guide flares existing at the tip of the cylindrical connection part.SOLUTION: A terminal metal fitting 91 for outer peripheral surfaces is formed by cutting off a connection part so as to form a depression 99 in which a tip between two adjacent flares 98 being a tip of a cylindrical connection part 93 having the connection part with the edge side part of a plate is cut backward from the bottoms of the flares 98 in a press step of manufacturing the terminal metal fitting 91 from the sheet plate. Since the depression 99 prevents a conventional projected piece from being generated at the tip, and hooking and slidability at a chamfer 27 or the like due to existence of the projected piece are not reduced by press-fit in the assembly step, smooth press-fit is attained. |
