<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid displaying excessively bright images.SOLUTION: An image display device includes; a light source unit 130 which outputs a light beam; a light source drive unit 116 which drives the light source unit 130 in accordance with input image data; a scanning mirror unit 200 which is driven in a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction such that the light beam from the light source unit 130 is reflected so as to be raster-scanned; and a dimming processing unit 300 which applies a dimming process on an entire or portions of an input image data area when the input image data contains no less than a predetermined threshold number of pixels having brightness of no less than a predetermined brightness threshold.</p> |
