A technique for the ventral spondylosyndesis comprises the surgical approach to the ventral divisions of the bodies of vertebrae, the resection of the heads of the ribs at the top of the backbone deformity, the total resection of the intervertebral disks and their endplates, the resection of the posterior elements of the fibrous rings of the disks and the posterior longitudinal ligament followed by the stabilization of the backbone. In addition, the deformed regions of the heads of ribs comprising the costal humpback are removed. The total resection of the intervertebral disks is preceded by their distraction. |
