The present invention is an apparatus for assigning functions to an LPS button on a telephone and a method thereof to be able to assign the functions by minimum operation when a user assigns the functions provided by a private branch exchange to the LPS button on the telephone. The method comprises the steps of: displaying an LPS functions assigned screen which can assign the desired functions to the LPS button, on a display device if the user presses an arbitrary LPS button among the LPS buttons for more than the set time; selecting the desired functions by using the LPS functions assigned screen displayed on the display device; and storing the selected function to be assigned to the LPS button and storing the functions which are assigned to the button, to be correspond to each other, on a memory. |
