PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite fiber having both excellent heat resistance and fire resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a sheath-core composite fiber containing a polyether imide resin as a sheath component and polyether ether ketone resin as a core component. Preferably an amorphous polyether imide resin having a glass transition temperature of 200°C or higher and no melting point as the sheath component and a crystalline polyether ether ketone resin having a melting point of 300 to 360°C as the core component are applied to melting spinning to manufacture a composite fiber having dry thermal shrinkage of 20% or less at 220°C. |
