<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed which does not cause the breakage of a warp yarn and enables the manufacturing of a woven fabric rich in design characteristics with "the meandering of warp yarns" larger than that of a prior art.SOLUTION: A reed for manufacturing a woven fabric in which the density of warp yarns is varied includes a plurality of dents one end of each of which is fixed to a base plate, and which are aligned at equal intervals. In the plurality of aligned dents, three types of dents which are large dents, medium dents and small dents are mixed. The large dents have a width of 2 to 6 mm. The medium dents have a narrower width than the large dents. The small dents have a narrower width than the medium dents. The dents of the reed in a part corresponding to a range within 1 cm from the selvage of the woven fabric include only the medium dents and the small dents. The base plate is attached to a base so as to be movable in the width direction of the woven fabric.</p> |
